Thats very impressive. Vassos did some great stuff.
ReplyDeleteSome seventies' design seems to me a little reminiscent of art deco, like this one (stripes of colours side by side in degradé, etc.)
ReplyDeleteVassos' earlier works are superb. I have a painting of his from the 70s which shows a slight stylistic, but not a significant conceptual, progression in the artist's career. The last poster hit on truth when they said the art of the 70s sometimes mimics art deco.
ReplyDeleteEven some of the fashion in the 70s was revivalist. You saw a bit of a come back of Art Nouveau, and some homages to the flappers. Ah, I would love to dress like a flapper. :) Happy holidays, Chad, thanks for stopping by, and good luck with your career.
