Corselet, 1938

"In 1938 a woman reveals how she manages to look so sleek in a long, bias-cut dress. Her all-in-one stretch corselet was designed to hold in the hips and waist, and would have been made out of elasticised cotton-satin. Flesh-coloured silk stockings were fastened to suspenders, and corselets often had low backs that could work with evening styles."
